55th Session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs

The fifty-fifth session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs will take place in Vienna, 12-16 March 2012. Dianova representatives will attend the commission’s debates while those of Dianova in Portugal will present on March 13, 2pm/3pm: “Engaging youth and Enrolling community on a Prevention Initiative”, a triennial review on the outcomes of a community-based drug prevention initiative: “Mocktails, Memories of a Night of Fun“.

The Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) was established by the Economic and Social Council as one of its functional commissions. It is responsible for analyzing and reviewing the global drug control situation, considering the interrelated issues of prevention of drug abuse, rehabilitation of drug users and trafficking in illicit drugs. The commission’s annual session acts as a forum allowing UN member states to discuss international drug policies.
