You’ve thought many times about quitting drugs and you’ve known for some time now that it isn’t easy.

Your family and friends have told you many times that you should get help, but you think you can deal with it.

You feel compelled to keep using even though you know you are hurting yourself and you fall over and over again.

Why is it so hard to quit?

An explanation: Your brain sends strong signals that dictate your actions and your decisions. When you use drugs the chemical signals in your brain change, this affects your decisions, your actions and even how you feel. Drugs can transform and damage the part of your brain that allows you to feel pleasure and that is activated when you eat, fall in love, or experience something pleasant. But after a while the substance you are using becomes more important and you have to consume it just to be able to feel good, this happens when you are already an addict.

Quitting drugs is difficult but not impossible. Will power and the right support can end your addiction.
