Press release

Barcelona, 9 October 2017,

World Mental Health Day is observed on 10 October every year with the overall objective of raising awareness and mobilising efforts in support of better mental health. Mental health in the workplace is the theme chosen by the WHO for the 2017 World Mental Health Day.

In the 21st century, the mental health and well-being of employees has become essential to the organizations’ success. To this end, business owners, managers and those in human resources must promote positive mental health in the workplace, understand and prevent situations that cause stress and other mental health issues, support workers who suffer from of such issues and develop effective policies in order to reintegrate people who have experienced mental health issues and to provide them with employment. A negative working environment may lead to physical and mental health problems, harmful use of substances or alcohol, absenteeism and productivity loss.

During the last decade, the Dianova International network has focused on education and the promotion of health through the implementation of international campaigns to increase social awareness among young people and parents/families of the risks associated with illegal or legal drug abuse and behavioural addiction.

Dianova is represented in 3 continents and 18 countries, this is why we hope that this year’s campaign will give this issue visibility and encourage policymakers to provide adapted resources.
